Wheel of Anime was held by one of the dealers I believe. ADV, actually.

ADV went under over a year ago, so they won't be back with the Wheel. :sorry:

It would be nice if someone else would have one, but financially it doesn't do them any good.

I didn't know ADV went under, that sucks. Hopefully there will be some kind of game for prizes this year.

My friends and I got so much free stuff in at the first Mechacon and it was a totally awesome ego-booster, so I know where you're coming from. My friend actually caught the Transformers DVD that they threw into the crowd at the opening ceremony. Good times, good times.

well someone could put together a game show atleast. I've done that kind of stuff before, gameshows, and those turn out well especially since they're for EVERYONE and not JUST cosplayers.

I like that idea. Hmm... could totally scoop up some swag from the rightstuf.com bargin bin as to use as prizes. Love those $3 anime volume deals~

At Louisianime, there was a guy who was holding Rock Paper Scissors tournaments in the hall for freebies. I got a pretty nice 8-10' Alphonse Elric figure. He wasn't affiliated with the con itself, though.

Maybe someone can bring back the Wheel full of more obscure anime that generally sit on the shelf for long periods of time. Another option would be to have people pay $3-$5 to enter this wheel-spinning game to have a little bit of cash flow.
I was just thinking about how much you remind me of Santa Claus.

Yeah, there was a lot of free stuff to go around at the first and second MechaCons. Then, the industry started taking a turn for the worse and giveaways became less and less accessible.

By last year, we were stuggling to get what little we could for you guys. But, we keep on keepin' on as best we can, despite that the industry is unable to support cons like they did in 2005. Just please keep in mind that we make no promises in regard to freebees. We only have what we're given to pass on to you guys.

I possess tremendous power to make life miserable or joyous. In all situations, it is my response that decides whether a crisis is escalated or de-escalated, and whether a person is humanized or de-humanized." - Goethe

Just curious (no pressure), is there any rule against buying things from the bargain bins and badly dubbed Walgreen's anime and using that in giveaways, or must they be allotted by the respective industries?
