I have a useless computer monitor sitting in my room right now. If you want to have it for costume parts, you're welcome to take it off my hands. =D

If you like, hollow it out, I would probably use it. Still wondering how to make that work though lol.

the weight of a CRT monitor comes from the CRT gun inside, once that is *SAFELY* removed from the monitor, the rest of the weight would come from the glass.

I say *SAFELY* because the ray gun is still electrically charged even when unplugged, so opening up the monitor without taking proper precautions can be deadly...

if you were going to wear it, i would also suggest removing the glass, not just cause of the weight, but it allows for breathing and safety because if the glass shatters, that can cause some risk to the wearer and people around you

Sure thing. I hope to see some really awesome cosplay come out of this. And guy's right; glass is a real hazard. I'm gonna have to take it out myself just to be safe. Fortunately there are plenty of alternatives you can work with to cover up that screen. =D

Well it all seems like such a big project still, I may have to learn to shape plastic somehow, lol. It's a good thing I have a whole year to work on my second go at cosplay! ^_^

Is it sad that, only two weeks after MechaCon, I've already decided on a cosplay and then decided to terminate the idea in favor of something else? This is going to be a long year.

If you pull that off as well as you did this year's cosplays, I will love you forever. D: And also probably glomptackle you.

What she said. 8D Hopefully our NEW cosplays will not change again, but just in case they do, I'm keeping my mouth shut for a little while.

...I kind of want to do Team 7 for Saturday, though, if I can get our costumes together properly enough. If I can get them all done without resorting to ebay, I already have a skit in mind for the cosplay contest.

I refuse to back down from the second cosplay, especially after the ordeal I went through to get that danged wig, heh. It shall go down!

Well, depends if I can go or not. Money has gotten tight, and well heh, sometimes you have to put things off. (Hoping I land a job right after school and I can start saving).

But...if I do go, and Kim joins me again, we'll have to introduce Xegnum and Xinj. It's the only fair thing since we couldn't bring them this year. Also, Mugen and Jin would come back (and maybe for a skit in the cosplay context).

But, I would like to do two new costumes. One would be a Halloween Town/NBC lolita type cosplay. And then a Christmas Town one as well. I think it'd be fun, and it's something I've been wanting to do since I fell in love with the movie (NBC) and the games (KH/KH2)
Upcoming Cosplay Costumes for MechaCon 5.0
*Possibly Xegnum (Mugen/Sam Cham/KH2/Org. 13 Crossover)
*Of course, Mugen
*Formal Mugen (For the ball)

Holy moley! I was thinking of doing Soren at one time. Awesome choice; good luck putting it together! =D

Thanks. It might be pretty hard. I'll join the Cosplay Contest if I do get it done.

Since I'm in love with THE WORLD ENDS WITH YOU, I'm thinking maybe one of the female characters from there-maybe Mitsuki Konishi or Rhyme. >.> I'm not sure, though. If I went as Konishi I could wear my glasses-always a plus. I would just have to invest in a wig... Besides, I'm too tall I think to pull off a good Rhyme... :/

If I DO decide to go as Konishi or Rhyme, though, I might get rid of Kyouya/Haruhi. I wouldn't want too many costumes. What do you guys think?

Keep a back up just in case one gets stained or ripped, that's what I would do.

^ Very true, but my main problem is fitting everything into a single carry-on since I have to fly down there (I'm from New Hampshire...)

In other news, after playing through all of TWEWY, I think I would be happier playing Kariya, actually....But that doesn't help me wanting to cosplay a female character. :/ Maybe I could do one day of Kariya and one day of one of the females, and then keep my Jin costume for one day...Or maybe just have my female character for the cosplay half-time show, since I'm one of the people pushing for a Yuri round next year, and I would LOVE to be in it...Hmm...

Good thing I have almost an entire year to plan!

It will be an Avatar: The Last Airbender year for me. I'm already planning several obscure costumes from that series... Princess Ursa (Zuko and Azula's mom) with my son as "baby" Zuko, Katara as The Painted Lady, and Joo Dee. My son will also have a Momo costume as well. We'll see if it still fits the little weed come Mechacon though... I will also be working on Manga Belldandy and may have that ready for Mechacon 5 as well as Katrina Antoinette... maybe I can talk the hubby into a matching period costume and have a Gustav to go with me...

we'll see what I get done...

Screw it, I can't hold it in any longer. I'm already gathering pieces (got my wig today!) to be Sanji from One Piece. Preferably his introduction black suit with a blue shirt. I'm going so far as to get my prescription fit for a pair of yellow-tinted sunglasses like he wears so that me and my blind self can actually WEAR glasses while IN-COSTUME and be able to freaking SEE.

No cigarette will be included as I am very dead-set AGAINST the act of smoking. Dub!Sanji and the 4Kids lollipop of doom, yes?

:XD:

If not, I might carry a pack of candy cigarettes and just eat the danged things.

I already have a slim frame and have a year to make it even slimmer if I must, so the only true work is running around to the Goodwill stores and seeing if I can get the suit itself at a discount so I can focus on those expensive sunglasses (which normally cost me $150-200).

Also, attempting to be---yes, you can groan if you want---Shippuuden Naruto. There is a special reason for this, so I don't care how cliche he is, I must be him so I can hang out with my Sasuke. And, I will have fun at doing so.
