Hiya. Your friendly neighborhood Tigah here again. Last year's Mechacon was amazing to me, with one exception, the semi-formal ball. As you may or may not know, I posted a forum topic after last year's con, describing my gripes about the high-school dance feel to it. Two years ago, in 08, the ball was perfect. It was...a ball. Last year, not so much. So, I'm posting this to hopefully get confirmation that the ball will be better this year, as I know other's have agreed with me about the 09 ball.

I was totally about to link to the other article and then realised it was you who started it. Later on the other thread Loki and SC pretty much said it'll be like Mecha IV's ball again. lol

Beautiful, you also say?!

I hope so. 2008's ball was great, and I know it can easily go back to that.

To put it in plain words, the Mecha organizers met with the Special Event members to discuss last years ball as opposed to years past. We discussed the areas that we thought were not up to Mecha expectations and how to correct them. This years ball will be held in the tradition you have come to expect. The formal attire will be strictly enforced (rumor has it, I will be guarding the door), plus the music will be appropriate as well.
For those who desire the more modern dancing, we will have the Rave on Saturday night.

Thank you, Roshi. You put my feelings succinctly.

The music last year was similar to the rave's. Which is fine, for the rave.
