After Info Please!

Postby Mommaspider » Thu Jul 30, 2009 8:21 pm

I didn't get to see the charity auction, had to go home and rest some. What were some of the items auctioned off, and does anyone have any information yet on how successful the auction was? It would have been cool to see a list of things in the program :hoho:

There was a still in the original box and packaging NES Challenge set with games, a Transformers Revenge of the Fallen standee, a signed and numbered limited edition AMANO Dark Horse print in the twenty-two lots.

All together, the 2009 MechaCon Charity Auction raised $2,443 for Faith House.

Awesome work, guys :hoho:

Does that number include the 1,000 from the Platinum Pass raffle and the 400ish from the Ouran Host Club work at the ball?

Instead of an auction, like past years, we raffled off the Platinum Pass for $1 per entry.

Uh-huh. That way, more people have a chance of winning the ultimate 'Con experience, and, best of all, more money will be raised for charity since it grows with attendance.

Ah, the platinum pass was a good idea. If y'all want help next year with gathering auction items or setting it up, let me know! Willing to spend a good deal of time in such an effort.

The Ouran Host Club also did a raffle at the formal ball. They brought in $418 for Faith House with their raffle. So, in total, with the charity auction, formal ball raffle, and platinum pass raffle, a check for $2,861 was presented to Faith House.

----Holy monkey WHAT, Platinum Pass was raffled? :what: How did I miss that?

If you keep up that idea for following years (please do!), I will definitely be sure to throw my name in on a fistful of tickets. Dang.

Yeah, I somehow didn't know about the raffle, either. I surely would've tossed in a great deal for two great purposes.

The raffle tickets were sold all weekend at the registration desk, and then at the auction. I'm sorry you didn't know about it. We tried to get the word out as best we could. This is something we're planning to continue doing, so at least you'll know for next time. :)

Ah, that's understandable. I pre-registered, so I never made it to the desk after Thursday night. So, I guess that's pretty much on me for not making a stop by there, so no worries on that. I'll do my best to see to it next year!
